Project DISCOVERY proposes an overall concept for marketing innovative tourist products in the municipalities of Dalgopol, Provadia and Dolni Chiflik through application of interactive visualization and a broad advertising campaign.

  • The project is focused on the small Black Sea municipalities – Dalgopol, Provadia and Dolni Chiflik, which remain isolated from the active tourist offers in the Black Sea cities and the interest to visit these places therefore is decreased
  • There is unutilized potential on the territories of the three municipalities for development of different types of tourism, which can be efficiently explored

The geographic location of the three municipalities, the availability of natural conditions, in combination with the unique presence of cultural heritage  ancient fortresses, rock monasteries, living traditions, customs, gastronomy, etc. reveal the potential for integrated development, establishment of interconnections and stimulating the economic development in these regions


WHAT DO WE AIM?

The project aims to diversify tourist products and services in the municipalities of Dalgopol, Provadia and Dolni Chiflik and improve the marketing policy for their offers to increase tourist employment and promote year-round tourism along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Specific objectives:

  • Identification of the needs and definition of a marketing approach to improve the distribution channels of tourist products in the three pilot municipalities by building stable partnerships between the public, private and civil sectors to extend the tourist season in the targeted territories.
  • Creation of sustainable integrated tourism products combining the local resources of the three municipalities, by developing and offering traditional marketing channels and online innovations in the supply channels.
  • Application of innovative approach to marketing and advertising the developed tourist products among target audiences of the tourist market in Poland thus transforming the three municipalities as into recognizable tourist destinations at the international level.

Target groups: Present and potential tourists from Poland, including guests, visitors, adventurers, nature and culture lovers, creators, those who want to touch and feel the local identity, culture, customs and uniqueness.


WHAT DO WE OFFER?

1.Strategic marketing plans for improving tourist offers through 15 integrated tourist packages for the targeted areas

2.Innovative digital applications:

  • Advertisement videos, promoting local resources and advantages
  • Online booking system with visualization of the tourist packages
  • Integrated information and communication platform

3. Broad marketing and advertising campaign targeted to Polish tourist market and through the Bulgarian national media


The realization of DICOVERY project will lead to increasing the image of “Destination Bulgaria” as recognizable country at the international scale.

All roads lead to Provadia and the Salt Mine

ProvadiaThe Salt Mine

The Salt Mine in Provadia is one of the cultural and historical wonders of Bulgaria. It is one of the oldest settlements in Europe and in the world. The settlement existed from 5600 to 4350 BC. Archaeological excavations have been carried out here for almost 20 years and new mysteries have constantly been discovered. This year declares the 20th season of the archaeological research, with the Salt Mine opening to visitors on 1.09.2024. Sightseeing takes place every day except Sunday, with visitors entering in groups, a maximum of 50 people per group, every round hour. Visits are leaded by a tour guide in Bulgarian. The goal is visitors to imagine and feel the life of people in ancient times. There will be an free day for visitors on 22.09!

The representatives of the Black Sea municipalities visited an international exhibition in implementation of activities under the DISCOVERY project, financed by the Ministry of Tourism and were led by Mr. Gercho Gerchev, manager of "Franga" OOD - a tour operator who is also an official partner of the project. This year it was the biggest spring tourist fair in southern Poland, as the Bulgarian stand was very elegant, for which it also received awards. The fair shows how much Poland and Bulgaria have in common, how much Bulgaria is liked in Poland and how much can be achieved with mutual cooperation!

Project DISCOVERY at the International Tourist Expo “Holiday and SPA 2024”

Representatives of the three municipalities of Dalgopol, Provadia and Dolni chiflik and the tour operator Frana Ltd. presented DISCOVERY project druing the annual international expo “Holiday and SPA”. The 40th anniversary edition of the event was held on 13th -15th March in Inter Expo Center in Sofia. Over 200 participants, among which representing hotels and restaurant managements, vacation complexes, places for accommodation, transport deliverers, municipal, regional and local tourist organizations, tour operators and agents from fourteen countries from Europe, Asia and Africa took part in the exhibition programme.

Dalgopol municipality hosted the first workshop of DISCOVERY project

The first working meeting of the project partners took place in the municipal building of Dalgopol and chaired by the mayor, Mr. Georgy Georgiev and the deputy mayor, Mrs. Ganka Georgieva. The project DISCOVERY, which was developed with the technical assistance of the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities, started on 1st of January 2024. The total eligible budget of the project is 398.580,00 EUR, out of which 60% of the funding is provided by the Ministry of tourism and 40% are covered by the partners.

Dalgopol, Provadia and Dolni Chiflik will offer joint tourist product

21.12.2023Sofia

The mayor of Dalgopol municipality concluded the Grant contract for realization of DISCOVERY project during official ceremony held on 21.12.2023 in the Ministry of tourism. The project aims to enable the small municipalities neighbouring the big tourist center Varna, to become more popular and to transform into attractive destinations for the incoming Polish tourists in Bulgaria. A specific focus will be to ensure the increase the year round tourism in these areas through development and introduction of targeted marketing campaign.
